Can't believe it's December already...

Well...the year is almost over.
The new smash brothers Ultimate came out two nights ago. I don't have a Switch so I just tagged along with a friend to go pick up his game at Best Buy at 9:01pm.
We unlocked all the characters by 8:44pm the next day haha
Talk about obsessed.
Pretty awesome they announced Joker from Persona 5 to be added as a character to Smash Brothers.
Other than that, work has been pretty steady. They flew me out to San Francisco last month since the union was on strike at the Marriott.
Been trying to save money but it's a slow process. Doesn't help we go out every night...
Looks like my good friend is having his honeymoon in Hawaii. Must be nice haha
For me nothing really interesting...just been working and hanging out with a few friends...my birthday is less than a month away....ugh....where does the time go....
I got 3 ugly sweater parties coming up all within a span of 3 days.... yeah I need to get some sweaters other than the one I already have.
Just keeping ya'll updated with my boring life. Hope something good happens. Thanks again for checking out my page everyone!

Entered the Los Angeles 48hr film Project again this year.

So....I made a short film

Hey guys, it’s been awhile.
Last year in 2017, my friends and I entered the Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Project.
Task: Create a 7min film (not including credits) within 48 hours.
Every team draws two random genres out of a hat and has to choose one to film about.
And every team gets assigned one prop, one character and one line of dialogue you have to use in your film.
The genre we ended up pulling was Sci Fi and Buddy Film. We decided to go with buddy film, since Sci Fi would have taken too long to make in post.
This was what was assigned to all teams.
**Character: Ashley/Austin Cheevers (The character must have some connection with wine.)
**Prop: a wallet
**Line: “We only have a few minutes.”
With that said, we were off! Long story short, our film had a lot of appraise! We had it screened in theaters in Los Angeles and received the red carpet treatment.
And now, after one year later...it has finally been posted on our group’s YouTube page.

Got a promotion at work

Few weeks ago while I was setting up some lights at work, my manager radios me to come into the office.
I know I'm a hard worker, but the thoughts running through my head was that I was in trouble.
Nope, he gave me the full time position as an audio and visual tech. I got a two dollar raise and benefits.
How awesome.
Now my paychecks go over 1k if I work a good two weeks. Not too bad.
As I currently type this on my laptop, I'm still sick. Got a fever few days ago after working 13 consecutive days.
I am still trying the achieve my new years resolution of saving 7k in my bank account. It's possible as long as I don't go out much.
Life has its ups and downs. I just hope I can end the year smiling. I miss my gf. We've been apart for almost a year now but it still sucks that she crosses my mind every few days. I guess its good that we're still friends but I miss having someone to turn to when I need to vent.
Let me just make a list so I can look back on this journal in the future.
*Cousin Chika came over from Japan for Halloween
*Water Boatman infestation in our cities
*Two people died after auto show
*Still sucking at life
*Might go camping in the snow in mid Dec
Yeah that's about it.

My first short film

Basically you pull two genres out of a hat and choose one to film about. You also get assigned one character, one prop, and one line of dialogue that you have to include in your 7min film.
The major challenge....you only have 48 hours to film and edit the entire film.
With all the challenges of finding friends to act and 24 hrs of sleepless editing, I completed my first short film.
"The Fists of Friendship" will be screening in LA this Friday along with many other films that were in this group. August 18th at 7:00pm

Location: 1000 West Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015
Tickets are $15.00
